WORSHIP

stoop, do obeisance, do reverence, fall down.

Why we Worship God?
• Acknowledge God’s greatness and His
nature.
He is Omnipotent, He is omniscient, He is
omnipresent, He is love, He is the Creator of all
things, author of Life and so on.

• Remember His mighty acts


-What has God done for us.
-Reflect on His redemptive work.
How should we Express our
Worship to Him?
• There are so many ways on how to
express our Worship to God.
1. Praising Him (Hallal)
Halal (Haw-Lal’) – “Hallelujah”
• to sing praise, To praise, celebrate, boast, to
adore (Shebach).
1. Praising Him (Halal)
Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.  Praise him for
his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing
greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the
trumpet,  praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise
him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the
strings and pipe, 5 praise him with the clash of
cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.6 Let
everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD. Psalms 150: 1-6
Luke 19: 37-40

When he came near the place where the
road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole
crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in
loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

2. Clapping our hands to Him.

Come, let us bow down in worship, let


us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

4. Bowing down to Him.
But I, by your great love, can come into
your house; in reverence I bow down
toward your holy temple.
Psalms 5:7

All the earth bows down to you; they sing


praise to you, they sing the praises of your
name. Psalms 66:4
I will bow down toward your holy
temple and will praise your name  for your
unfailing love and your faithfulness, for
you have so exalted your solemn decree
that it surpasses your fame.

5. Dancing for Him.
Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and
harp. Psalms
149:3

6. Singing for Him.
“Tehillah” – To Sing a new song
“Zamar” – To play an instrument

Then my head will be exalted above the


enemies who surround me; at his sacred
tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will
sing and make music to the LORD.
Psalms 33:1-3

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you


righteous; it is fitting for the upright to
praise him. 2 Praise the LORD with the
harp;  make music to him on the ten-
stringed lyre. 3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
7. Offering to Him.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.
Psalms 96:8

I will come to your temple with burnt


offerings and fulfill my vows to you— I will
sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of
rams; I will offer bulls and goats.
Psalms 66:13, 15

You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would
bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt
offerings. The sacrifices of God are a
broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

Then there will be righteous sacrifices,


whole burnt offerings to delight you; then
bulls will be offered on your altar.

king take whatever he wishes and offer it up.
Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and here
are threshing sledges and ox yokes for the

the LORD your God accept you.” 24 But the king
replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you
for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God
burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”
Mark 12:41- 44

Jesus sat down opposite the place where
the offerings were put and watched the crowd
putting their money into the temple treasury.
Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But
a poor widow came and put in two very small
copper coins, worth only a few cents. 43 Calling
his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you,
this poor widow has put more into the treasury
than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their
wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in
everything—all she had to live on.”
Romans 12: 1

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view


of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as
living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to
God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
We can express our worship to God by:

1.Praising Him
2. Clapping our hands to Him.
3. Kneeling before Him.
4. Bowing down to him.
5. Dancing for Him.
6. Singing for Him.
7. Offering to Him.
John 4:23-24
Yet a time is coming and has now
come when the true worshipers will
worship the Father in spirit and truth,
for they are the kind of worshipers the
Father seeks. God is spirit, and his
worshipers must worship in spirit and in
truth."
