• We don’t use do /does /did in indirect questions

• I: Do you have any idea how she has managed to get in shape so quickly
• In indirect questions, the aux. verb has/ have is moved after the subject.
• D: can you finish the Project by tomorrow?
• I: would it be possible for you to finish the Project by tomorrow?
• Can : would it be possible , we can use it for indirect questions.
• D: can we change the meeting to Thursday?
• I: is there any chance we could change the meeting to Thursday?
• “Is there any chance” is another option for forming indirect questions with can
• If the direct question is a “YES or NO”, question ( it has no words such as what, when, how ,
why, who), then we indirect question will have IF.
