ORDINARY LIGHT

MICROSCOPE

BY GROUP A
INTRODUCTION
Is the type of light microscope which uses visible light
as it’s source of illumination. It can be a
daytime(natural light) by using a mirror or electric
bulb as in built illuminator
WORKING PRINCIPLE OF AN ORDINARY
LIGHT MICROSCOPE
In the bright field illumination, rays of light from
the source are focused by the condenser on the
slide placed on the stage.

When an object in a specimen is illuminated with

bright light (light rays), an objective produces a
magnified primary image in the focal plane of the
eye piece diaphragm. The eye lens of the eye piece
further magnifies the image and brings it into
focus on the retina of the eye as a VIRTUAL
IMAGE.
