Magnifying Parts
• include the eyepiece and objective lenses.
Eyepiece
• Allows you to look through and observe the
enlarged image of the object
Objectives Lenses
• Magnify the image
Illuminating Parts
• Provide and manage the light source in order to
clearly see the object
Diaphragm
• Controls the amount of light passing through the
opening of the stage
Mirror
• Used to provide light on the object help focuses it.
Mechanical Parts
• Provide support and protection to the other parts
of the microscope
Body tube
• Holds the eyepiece and the revolving nosepiece in
place
Revolving nosepiece
• Allows proper positioning of the objective lenses
which are attached to it
Coarse adjustment Knob
• Used to move the tube and the objective lenses
closer or farther away fromthe stage to view the
image of the object
Fine Adjustment Knob
• Moves the stage up and down and brings the image
of the object into fine focus
Stage and Stage Clip
• Used to support and hold the specimen slide in
place.
Arm
• Supports the body tube and connects it to the base.
Base
• Supports and microscope in an upright position
Inclination Joint
• Where the arm is connected to the base of the
microscope which allows the user to tilt the
microscope back to view the specimen comfortably
