INTRODUCTION
.WHAT IS LINKEDIN?

LINKEDIN is an American business and employment oriented online service that operates
via websites and mobile apps. The platform is primarily used for professional networking and
career development.
HISTORY
.LINKEDIN launched in may 5 2003.

.Founder of LINKEDIN is REID HOFFMAN

.LINKEDIN is 11 year older than the other social platform (facebook,Youtube,Twitter)

.End of first month LINKEDIN had 4500 member but it would only get 20 sign up.

.In 2006 LINKEDIN had over 5 million members. It was the first year that LINKEDIN recorded a profit.

.LINKEDIN start his first international office in UK in 2008

.LINKEDIN celebrated 10th birthday party in style with 225 million users across the globe now.

.LINKEDIN has grown with more than 5400 full time employees with offices in 27 cities around the world.
WHEN IT BECAME POPULAR

LINKEDIN finally became profitable in 2007. that year LINKEDIN had more than
15 million members, and by 2011 LINKEDIN had more than 100 million members
worldwide. LINKEDIN’s initial public offering that same year raised $353 million.
In 2016 LINKEDIN was acquired by Microsioft for approximately $26 billion.

manager,colleages,classmates etc. Requires a sizeable amount of intension.

Important to learn as much as possible .if you don’t have enough time in schedule
about a prospective employer. Adding this to your plate can be stressful.

The site also pulls information from employees.

Learn key information such as the types of jobs


the company has. .important to use other channels well to ensure
your search remains well rounded.
TODAY LINKEDIN

LINKEDIN has stopped 315 million users globally which statistically is the majority of
professionals. The research is not conclusive but I have seen estimates between
350 to 600 million business professionals on the planet, so over 50% of the
business professionals on the planet are on LINKEDIN.
FUTURE LINKEDIN

LINKEDIN continues to grow, they add features to keep the experience delivering
for the users and it become the default look up for all serious business professionals.
They continues to be connected,slideshare and more recently news and bizo.
Where does it go from here other then bigger and bigger?
Who knows! But it will be interesting to see.
