NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL /
ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲਾ
• The National Youth Festival in India is
an annual gathering of youth with
various activities including competitive
ones. Celebrated to commemorate the
birth anniversary of youth icon Swami
Vivekananda, it is organized by
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,
Government of India in collaboration
with one of the State Governments.
Thus it is held in a different state each
year during National Youth Week, 12
to 16 January every year.

 OBJECTIVE
• The National Youth Festival began in 1995 as
a major activity under the programme of
National Integration Camp (NIC). In
collaboration with one of the States and
institutions like Nehru Yuva Kendra
Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service
Scheme (NSS), the Government of India
conducts this programme every year. Like the
National Youth Festival, States are also
encouraged to hold state level, district level
and block level youth festivals in the same
format as that of the National Youth
Festival. .The centre of the festival focuses not
only reflect the spirit of friendship but also
peace and development. Besides all this, this
festival provides a nationwide exposure to the
youth.
• ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲਾ 1995 ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਏਕਤਾ

ਪੱਧਰੀ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਾਕ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਯੁਵਕ
ਮੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ
ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ|
ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ
ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਲਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ
ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਇਹ
ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਨੌ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਆਪੀ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ
ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ|
• NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP(NIC) -
Organised by National Service Scheme, National
Integration Camps aim at fostering a feeling of
national integration and greater understanding of
various cultures by the youth of the country.
• NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME(NSS)- is a Central
Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of
Youth Affairs & Sports. The sole aim of the NSS is to
provide hands on experience to young students in
delivering community service. Since inception of
the NSS in the year 1969, the number of students
strength increased from 40,000 to over 3.8 million
up to the end of March 2018 students in various
universities, colleges
• NATIONAL YUVA KENDRA SANGHATHAN-Nehru
Yuva Kendras (lit. 'Nehru Youth Centres') were established
in the year 1972. Later in year 1987 under Rajiv Gandhi
Government it became Nehru Yuva Kendra
Sangathan (NYKS). There are two main objectives of
NYKS
• 1:- provide rural youth avenues toward nation building.
• 2:- provide opportunities to develop their personality and
skills

ਮਾਮਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਮੰ ਤਰਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਇੱ ਕ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਨਐਸਐਸ ਦਾ ਇਕੋ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ
ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ.
ਸਾਲ 1969 ਵਿੱ ਚ ਐਨਐਸਐਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਮਾਰਚ
2018 ਦੇ ਅੰ ਤ ਤੱ ਕ ਵੱ ਖ -ਵੱ ਖ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ, ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 40,000 ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਕੇ 3.8 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ
ਤੋਂ ਵੱ ਧ ਹੋ ਗਈ
• ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸੰ ਗਠਨ-ਨਹਿਰੂ ਯੁਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ (ਲਿਖਤ-'ਨਹਿਰੂ
ਯੁਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ') ਸਾਲ 1972 ਵਿੱ ਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਬਾਅਦ
ਵਿੱ ਚ ਰਾਜੀਵ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਸਾਲ 1987 ਵਿੱ ਚ ਇਹ ਨਹਿਰੂ
ਯੁਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸੰ ਗਠਨ (NYKS) ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। NYKS ਦੇ ਦੋ ਮੁੱ ਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼
ਹਨ 1:- ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਵੱ ਲ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੋ.
2:- ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ

 CONDUCTION OF COMPETITION
• The National Youth Day is observed all
over India at schools and colleges, with
processions, speeches, music, youth
conventions, seminars, Yogasanas,
presentations, competitions in essay-
writing, recitations and sports on 12
January every year. Swami Vivekananda's
lectures and writings, deriving their
inspiration from Indian spiritual tradition.
These were the source of inspiration and
have motivated numerous youth
organizations, study circles and service
projects involving the youth.
• ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ

ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਵਾਮੀ
ਵਿਵੇਕਾਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਲੈ ਕਚਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ, ਭਾਰਤੀ
ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਪਰੰ ਪਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਲੈਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਏ। ਇਹ
ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਤ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ

• To compete at the national level,
the young talents perform their
level best to get themselves
medals and awards. To conduct
these competitions, eighteen in
all disciplines, a team of officers
was deployed who managed the
competitions, helped for smooth
conduct of competitions,
collected and collated the results.

ਟੀਮ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ
ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ
ਸੁਚਾਰੂ conductੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱ ਚ
ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱ ਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ
ਇਕੱ ਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ.

• The youth is important because they will be •
our future. Today they might be our partners,
tomorrow they will go on to become leaders.
The youths are very energetic and
enthusiastic. They have the ability to learn and
adapt to the environment. Similarly, they are
willing to learn and act on it as well to achieve
their goals.

make all the youth aware of their
power and the role they have to play in
nation-building.

ਉਹ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਖੇਡ ਖੇਤਰ, ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ
ਲੋ ੜ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ

 WAYS TO HELP THE YOUTH
• There are many ways in which we can help the
youth of our country to achieve their potential.
For that, the government must introduce
programs that will help in fighting off issues like
unemployment, poor education institutes and
more to help them prosper without any hindrance.
• Similarly, citizens must make sure to encourage
our youth to do better in every field. When we
constantly discourage our youth and don’t believe
in them, they will lose their spark. We all must
make sure that they should be given the wind
beneath their wings to fly high instead of bringing
them down by tying chains to their wings.
