Founded in 1926, AT Kearney is a global management consulting firm, focusing on strategic and operational CEO-agenda concerns

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the firm operated within the United States since its founding in 1926, until 1964 when it opened its first international office in Dsseldorf

 

A.T. Kearney now has 55 offices in 38 countries The firm is regularly ranked among the top 15 in Consulting Magazine's annual ranking of the Best Firms to Work For

A private firm, it employs ~2,700 employees at its various locations across the world, with ~1,900 of these employees being consultants

Foundation: The predecessor firm of A.T. Kearney was founded in 1926 and in 1929 Andrew Thomas (Tom) Kearney joined the firm. A marketing pioneer in his own right, Tom Kearney and his associates blazed a new trail in the world of management consulting. Unlike competitors, A.T. Kearney approached consulting from a general survey perspective, examining all aspects of a company to develop more comprehensive solutions

International Expansion: From the 1940s through Tom Kearneys retirement in 1961, the firm continued to thrive. In 1964, it opened an office in Dsseldorf. New offices were then opened throughout the United States and Europe, and in 1972, first Asian office was opened in Tokyo

In 1995, AT Kearney was acquired by EDS, a leader in the global information industry. The firm we tackled a number of highly successful projects with many of the worlds leading companies during this period

Renewed Independence: In 2005, EDS CEO, Michael Jordan, confirmed rumors that EDS was seeking to sell A.T. Kearney back to its management team. The transaction was completed in January 2006

In January 2006, A.T. Kearney partners purchased the firm back and achieved independence. More than 170 A.T. Kearney officers from 26 countries participated in the transaction as investors

The firm then onwards became known as the 80-year-old start-up, with a proud heritage dating back to Tom Kearney, and the spirit and enthusiasm of a new company

1988 - Named fifth-largest broad-based multidisciplined management consultancy in the United States; Firm surpasses $100 million in revenue

1994 Wins two five-year contracts from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, largest in firms history

1996 Moscow office expansion makes A.T. Kearney the multinational consultancy with the largest on-site capability in Russia

2003 Winning the Merger Endgame, by Fritz Kroeger and Graeme Deans, selected by Executive Book Summaries as the best business book of 2003

2004 Consulting Magazine names Fritz Kroeger to its list of Top 25 Most Influential Consultants

2005 - Paul A. Laudicina named to Consulting Magazines list of Top 25 Most Influential Consultants

2005 - World Out of Balance, by Laudicina, selected by Executive Book Summaries as one of the best business books of 2005

2006 A.T. Kearney South Korea LLC becomes largest consulting presence in the country

2007 - Paul Laudicina is again named to Consulting Magazine's list of Top 25 Most Influentical Consultants

2008 - Daniel Mahler, partner from the New York office, named to Consulting Magazines list of Top 25 Most Influential Consultants

2009 - Vance Scott, partner from the Chicago 0ffice, named to Consulting Magazines list of Top 25 Most Influential Consultants

2010 - A.T. Kearney becomes carbon neutral across its global consulting operations, achieving a 2007 pledge to be carbon neutral by 2010.

2010 - Hana Ben-Shabat, a NY-based partner, named to Consulting Magazine's list of Top 25 Most Influential Consultants

2011 - Laura Gurski, partner from the Chicago office, named to Consulting Magazine's list of Top 25 Most Influential Consultants

Paul Laudicina Managing Officer and Chairman of the Board Paul was elected managing officer of A.T. Kearney and took office in September 2006; he was re-elected to a second term in 2009. Paul is the seventh person to lead the firm in its 80-year history

John Yoshimura Global Chief Operating Officer In addition to his current role, John has served as the Managing Director of Asia Pacific, Unit Leader for North America and Southeast Asia/India/China, and Leader of the Operations Practice for Asia. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors

Marcy Beitle Head of Americas Marcy Beitle is a Partner with A.T. Kearney and is based in New York. As the Lead

Partner for the Americas, Marcy has responsibility for the management of A.T. Kearney in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and all of Latin America

John Kurtz Head of Asia Pacific John was appointed Head of Asia Pacific in January 2011. Prior to this role, John served on the Board of A.T. Kearney from 2007-2010 and has served the firm as Unit leader for Southeast Asia and for India. He has also led the Communications and High-Tech practice for Asia

Johan Aurik Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa Johan was named head of A.T. Kearneys operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa in January 2009. Previously, Johan served as Unit leader for the Benelux region and was a member of A.T. Kearneys Board of Directors. He also led the Consumer Goods and Retail Practice in Europe
