Basic Structure
In every system of government, there
are 3 basic structure exit:
 Unitary
 Federal
 Confederation
What is Unitary Form of Government?
 Unitary means concentration of power that have follow
central government. It includes political subdivisions.
 The unitary state can govern the entire country, form a single
person. It includes the element of dictatorship.
 In unitary system, local governments such as state or country
systems may have some power, but they are under the control
of the central government.
Examples:

Of the 193 member countries od the United Nations, 165 are unitary
states.
Here are some well-recognized examples of Unitary form of
government:
 France
 UK
 Spain
 Turkey
Features of Unitary form of Government

 Centralization of power.
 Uniformity of Laws.
 Flexible Constitution.
 Unicameral Legislature.
 No division of power.
Pros of Unitary Form
It promotes a sense of unity.
It is smaller.
It is cheaper to run.
It replicates other systems.
Cons of Unitary Form

 It ignores local needs.


 It ignores the sub-states.
 It encourages abuse of power.
 It becomes tyrannical.
 It lacks infrastructure.
