Sylvester Stallone Historical Figures
Every male, from a little boy to a
frail old man in his death throes, felt
the pangs of jealousy at the sight of
John Rambo’s intimidating muscles.
In the 80s, it was all about being an in-
your-face ‘alpha male’. Sylvester
Stallone wasn’t just bashing bad guys
left, and right, his roles had believable
characters behind them who had the
same pains and struggles like the
everyday person.

Michael J. Fox
Michael J. Fox was the hottest teen
Historical Figures
actor of the 80s, and by the time Teen
Wolf was released, he was already
launched into the limelight with the
success of Back To The Future. His good
looks and great humor worked
particularly well with the ladies. While
comedy has been his strong suit, the actor
has delivered us brilliant movies with
more somber tones such as Casualties of
War and Light of Day.

Architecture
Norton House in Venice Beach
Completed in 1984 by Canadian
American architect Frank Gehry, the Historical Figures
Norton House is known for its eccentric.
It is a sculptural assemblage of everyday
low-cost materials that forms an eye-
catching residence among all of Venice’s
famed Ocean Front Walk beachfront
architecture.
”It as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the
house’s beachfront setting and to
William Norton’s past work as a

completed the Glashütte Villa at Eifel in Historical Figures
western Germany. The house is a
rectangular box with each facade
symmetrical. The rooms inside are laid
out around a central hall and staircase.
The Villa has been stripped of all
ornament, and yet it reads like a classical
building.
”The house is a living space,
laboratory, test and representation of the
idea of the world.” -Oswald Mathias

Nelson Fine Arts Center
The complex houses the ASU Art Museum,
the Galvin Playhouse as well as dance
classroom and studios. The structure is known
Historical Figures
as the “magic mountain”  or the “oasis” as the
design learns from the vernacular desert
architecture to respond to the site’s
environment and climate.
”I try to understand place on a deeper level
than just the physical or environmental
aspects. It includes cultural and intellectual
forces, too. It’s an inclusive approach that
brings in many disciplines and sees place as a
dynamic thing.”
