ABSTRACT
IOT based mirrors pack in ardent technology which make lives simpler and are
technological advancement rather than innovation. These are the mirrors of the future. They
depict a portion of the deeply connected world where we will be able to see weather,
temperature, news etc… just while looking or grooming in front of mirror. Our proposed
system allows us to build such mirrors that allow the mirrors to receive news from the
internet and display it on its screen along with other details including the time, temperature,
weather forecast, current mood, current pose for a futuristic and modern lifestyle. We will
use python as we will be demonstrating a software prototype. Newsfeeds are taken from the
internet, Time is taken from the computer/internet, Temperature of the room will be
calculated via sensors or Local area temperature can be received instantaneously from the
internet, We read the face of the person standing in front of the mirror and send it to cloud
to recognize the emotion, We will use the same technology used in emotion detection to
estimate pose and we will also try to play music depending upon the current properties.

REQUIREMENTS
Web Host
We will either be downloading HTML files of a prebuilt model
webpage or build from a scratch our own model to display data
in a restrictive webpage whose sole purpose is for this project.

Python
Python will be used to program ThingSpeak

Emotion detection and all other It is an IOT analytics platform service

concepts (tentative – will be which will be used to aggregate, visualise

decided during project phase). and analyse live data streams in the cloud

NOVELTY
There are numerous journal publications solely focused on smart
mirrors and there are numerous emotion detection algorithms
available, but a combination of both doesn’t seem

IMPORTANT NOTE
We will also be implementing Pose estimation and Music based
upon emotion which will all be a part of the python code. Block

after progress has been made. (All additionals are tentative)
