KEY POINTS IN CASE:

• G.M. has problem with Manufacturing Budget, Cost reduction targets and
new manufacturing schedule.

• G.M. is ignorant about new product integration.


He never gets an opportunity to give his views and to participate in
decision making.

• Production culture has never been assessed before new product


integration and strict rules are imposed by finance and personal
department without knowing actual situation.
REASONE OF CONFLICT:

LACK OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN HIGHER AUTHORITIES AND G.M.


POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY!

HOW?

1. Set up complaint box for workers.

2. Regular meetings and feedback from GM by higher


authorities.

3. Setting up a council which includes chairman of company,


GM, incharge of finance, personal etc relevant
departments for smooth and direct communication.
WILL BUSINESS PROCESS RE-ENGINEERING HELP?

Business Process Re-Engineering will be a big step!

• It is a big change and takes a lot of time to fall the things in their
place.

• Employs will require time to adopt the whole new system.

• Dissatisfaction of employs.

• New problems will arise which will again consume a lot of energy, time
and wealth.

• Impact on production, sales, stake holders etc. ( all inside and outside
operations)

Strengths:

• New products are being introduced


• Company’s interest in high growth
• Profit maximization and cost reduction policy of company

Weakness:

• Lack of co-ordination between different departments, GM and president of


company.
• Higher authorities are unaware about capacity of production department.
• Lack of manpower in production department.
Opportunities:

• Assessment of production culture,


• bottom level employees like GM should be given opportunity to give their
openion in decision making.

Threats:

• Lack of communication.
• Strict rules.
