Business Communication

• Communication is an essential element in the success of any business.

• The process of transferring information from one person to another, within and outside the
business environment, is termed  ‘Business Communication.’
Social Media

• Social media is a collective term for websites and

applications that focus on communication,
community-based input, interaction, content-
sharing, and collaboration.

• Some popular examples of general social media

platforms include LinkedIn, Twitter, and
Facebook.
Role of Social Media in Business Communication

1. Wider reach: People from different demographics, cultures, niches, etc., can gather at the same place to
discuss thoughts and ideas.

2. Customer service: The best thing about using social media as a platform for customer service is that people
don’t have to wait by the phone for an individual to answer.

3. Putting out promotional content: Give the audience a reason to engage with your social media pages.

4. 24/7 online presence:  People can discuss their ideas, provide feedback or even ask questions about the
products and services to get instant answers.

5. Collaborations: When any two brands collaborate and campaign, the news spreads like wildfire on social media
channels. People rush to check out the new products birthed by their partnership.
