REVIEW

Lithium batteries, also known as Li-Ion

batteries, are a type of accumulator, which
means that it is a device developed for the
storage of electrical energy, but with the
particularity of having been developed for
use as an electrolyte.

CHARGE AND DISCHARGE
TYPES OF BATTERIES

 Lithium-cobalt

 Lithium Polymer

 Lithium Iron Phosphate

 Lithium-manganese oxide

 Lithium metatitanate

 Lithium-Nickel-Cobalt Aluminum Oxide

 Lithium manganese cobalt oxide

ADVANTAGES AND
DISADVANTAGES
 ADVANTAGE

• High energy density.

• Reduced weight.
• High voltage per cell.
• Linear discharge.
• Very low self-discharge rate.

 DISADVANTAGES

• Average duration of lithium battery is about 500-1000 charging cycles.

• Useful life of 2-3 years stored with 40% of its maximum charge.
• They support a limited number of loads between 300 and 500.
• Its manufacture is more expensive.
• Its performance at low temperatures is worse, reducing its duration by up to 25%.
APPLICATIONS
• Smart phones or smartphones.
• Tablets.
• Electric cars.
• Hybrid cars.
• Hybrid propulsion of boats or yachts.
• Smart watches.
