 Definitie:
Topirea este o transformare de faza, un process in care o substanta trece din faza solida in faza lichida, datorita caldurii
schimbate cu mediul exterior. Asadar, topirea este determinata de primirea de caldura din mediul exterior.

Cresterea energiei atomilor sau moleculelor conduce la distrugerea legaturilor dintre ele, fenomen care duce la topirea partiala
sau totala a substantei solide.

Cantitatea de caldura necesara, pentru a topi masa a unui corp solid, se numeste caldura latenta de topire.
De asemenea, fiecare substanta cristalina se topeste la o temperatura constanta, numita temperatura de topire.
