Introduction

 Despite being the second biggest  Khan (1955) initiated research on

category of terrestrial plants, bryophytes' bryophytes and did an outstanding work. He
therapeutic potential remains unknown discovered some new species of Riccia
and unexplored
 From 1998 to 2006 Banu-Fattah studied on
 According to various published and the taxonomic studies on the Acrocarpous
unpublished documentation, bryophytes Mosses of Bangladesh of different family,
contain active components that are genus
extensively applied as antibacterial,
antifungal, cytotoxic and insecticidal  However, antimicrobial activities and others
agents bioassay of bryophytes is yet to be
investigated in Bangladesh

Conclusion
 the majority of the extracts have the capacity to inhibit bacterial
growth
 presence of various phytochemicals through qualitative and
quantitative test
 have the capacity to inhibit free radicals

 have the capacity to inhibit protein denaturation

Selected species could be the potential source for the development of

traditional treatment system of Bangladesh and to develop antimicrobial
agents against the microbial diseases
