 CHAPTER 46
INTELLIGENCE

*David Copperfield was walking near Mrs Steerforth house, servant- maid came out to
request him to talk to Rosa Dartle. Rosa Dartle seemed so weak and thin
*It was not a cordial meeting,Littimer was called and he told all the story in obedience
to Rosa’s order
*Littimer and Steer forth had been abroad with Emily ever since the left Yarmouth .
*Emily learnt speaking different languages & went Switzerland Italy etc.
*Steerforth seemed to be infatuated by Emily for a good deal of time
*There were quarrels between the two Steerforth left asking the Littimer to inform Emily
that he had gone. Suggesting that Emily should marry a respectable man who can
ignore her past.
Emily was unexpectedly disturb and violent on hearing this news ,she was almost mad
and ran out of the window and was not seen afterwards.
*Miss Dartle had to pay Littermere to get the story from him.After his departure Miss
Dartle asked David to find out that ‘low girl’ so that therefore may Steerforth not fall
in to her again.
*Mrs Steerforth was very much altered .
*David went to Mr Pegotty the next evening in London and told the whole story that
Emily has left Steerforth .
 *Both of them went out in search of Martha and saw her near blackfriars bridge.
 CHAPTER 47
MARTHA

*Mr. Pegotty and David followed Martha to Westminster thinking she

would go to some house.
*Martha ended up looking into the water and seemed sleepwalking.
*She was not conscious and was attempting suicide
*Mr. Pegotty and David saved her from drowning and ask help to find
Emily.
*Martha agree to help and David return back home after midnight.
*David was surprised to see that his aunts cottage door was open.
*A big secret was discovered that his uncle ,Mrs Trotwood s husband was
alive.
 CHAPTER 48
DOMESTIC
*David Copperfield book was published
*David and Dora had been married for the past year
*Domestic life of David Copperfield was all shattered
*Dora was not a good housekeeper
*Servants were not trustworthy stole things and cheated Dora and David.
*Dora met with tragedy but David supported her and being a good husband.
*Dora becomes ill.
 CHAPTER 49
I AM INVOLVED IN MYSTERY
*David receives a letter from
*Mr Micawber and Mrs Micawber on the same day that his mind was started
and he was destroyed.
*Misery and secrecy were the chief characteristics of Mr Micawber
*Traders and David Copperfield met Mr micawber and saw a total change in
his behaviour
*Uriah heep was exposed and his conspiracy was discovered
CHAPTER 50
MR. PEGOTTY’S DREAM COMES TRUE.
*Few months after the interview with Martha David Copperfield began to
believe that Emily was dead.
*However Mr. Pegotty told David That he has been asked to not to leave
London .
*About a fortnight Martha came to David’s residence with a note that she
found Emily..
*They drove to Golden square then in a dark street to a top storey where poor
lodgings were let.
*They saw a woman entering into room , none other than Rosa Dartle.
*Rosa was full of merciless hatred. Rosa was torturing Emily with pouring scorn
attempting to kill her.
*Meanwhile David Copperfield and Martha are listening to there conversation, they
hear footsteps on the staircase. It was Mr. Pegotty.
*Rosa left the room and Mr. Pegotty entered the room .Emily cried out , “Uncle!” And
fainted.
*Hence Mr. Pegotty’s dream comes true by finding Emily…
