TEST BATTERY

FOR TRACK AND FIELD

ATHLETE(TRACK)

OBJECTIVE OF THE
TEST
◦ To enhance the athlete performance in the future.
◦ To measure the current level fitness of the athletes.
◦ To prepare the athletes for upcoming competition.
◦ To increase athletes’ physiology knowledge
◦ To compare athletes previous result and current result
About this test battery

◦ Consist of two session.


◦ Have a total of 5 test: 1-minute squat test(endurance), v-sit test(flexibility),
star-excursion test(balance), burpee test(strength), and 10-meter sprint(speed).
◦ First session: 1-minute squat test, v-sit test, star-excursion test
◦ Second session: burpee test, 10-meter sprint
1-minute squat test (endurance)
- Equipment: stopwatch, a chair or box
- Procedure:
1. The athlete stands with their feet shoulder-width apart in
front of a chair, facing away from it.
2. The athlete squats down and lightly touches the chair with
their rear before getting up and repeating the movement
pattern for one minute.
3. The conductor counts and records the number of completed
squats within one minute
V-sit reach test (flexible)
- Equipment: tape or ruler, marker, measuring tape
- Procedure:
1. Get in v-sit position with legs flat on the floor
2. Lean forward at the hips, keeping the knees straight, and glide the hand
up the ruler as far as possible in a calm, steady motion
3. Extend as far as possible, take a cm measurement, rest, and repeat three
times.
4. Average the score as it will be the final score
Star-excursion test(balance)
- Equipment: marking tape, measuring tape
- Procedure:
1. Participant need to stand on the center of the star.
2. The participant should complete the circuit clockwise when utilizing the right
foot as the reaching foot and the left leg to balance. The participant should
perform the circuit in an anti-clockwise direction while balancing on the right
leg.
3. The participant need to position their hands on hips, then reach as far as
possible with one leg and touch the line with their toe.
4. Test administrator should mark all the spot that participant touch with their
toe.
5. Averaging all the eight measurement would be the final score for the
participant.
Burpee test (strength)
- Equipment: stopwatch
- Procedures:
1. Standing still while arms by the side(erect)
2. From standing position, Squat down and position both
hands in front of feet on the floor.
3. The legs are thrust back to a push-up position with a
straight line from the shoulders to the heels by putting the
bodyweight on the hands.
4. Pull the legs back into a squatting stance, then stand up to
return to the starting position.
5. A burpee is performed from a standing posture back to a
standing position.
10-meter sprint test (speed)
- Equipment: stopwatch, measuring tape, marker
cones
- Procedure
1. Participant ready behind the starting line with
standing split-stance start position.
2. When the 'GO' signal is given, the participant must
sprint to the finish line as fast as possible.
3. If valid results are required, each participant must
perform a MINIMUM OF THREE SPRINTS, each
separated by a 2-3 minute rest.
4. Averaging the timing of the 3 sprints would be the
final score for the participant.
First Session Tentative
9a.m(pre-test) - All participant gather at designated place.

- Test administrator need to check all the athlete attendance.

- Athletes need to fill Health Consent form.

- Test administrator begin filtering out participants that can


perform the test and the one that can’t.

10a.m(pre-test) - Begin warm-up(dynamic stretching)

- 30 seconds break while conductor give all participant a form


that will need to fill the data for each test.

- All participant need to choose which test they want to start first.
(1-minute squat test, v-sit test, 10-meter shuttle test)

10.30a.m(d - Test administrator will begin the first test (each participant may
uring test have different test from others
- 1 minute break with each participant need to fill the form of the
test battery scoring for their first test

10.40a.m - Participant need to switch to the other test

- Test administrator will begin the second test


- 1 minute break with each participant need to fill the form of the
test battery scoring for their second test
10.50a.m - Participant need to switch to the other test
- Test administrator will begin the third test
- 1 minute break with each participant need to fill the form of the
test battery scoring for their third test
11a.m - End of first session
Second Session Tentative
11.45a.m - Test administrator will need to make sure all participant are
present
- Test administrator will conduct a light warm-up for the
remaining two test
- 1 minute break, participant need to be ready with their test
form to do the test
12.30p.m - Test administrator begin the fourth test
- 1 minute break with each participant need to fill the form of the
test battery scoring for their fourth test
12.40p.m - Participant need to switch to the last test
- Test administrator begin the last test
-1 minute break with each participant need to fill the form of the
test battery scoring for their fourth test
Second Session Tentative

1.30 p.m - All athlete begin cooldown


(post test)
- Test administrator call up all the participant to gather at one
designated place.
- Test administrator will check all the athlete attendance.
- Test administrator will gather all the test battery form from the
athlete.
- Test administrator will give a short briefing about all the athlete
score from the test battery form.
