Let’s look at some examples of sentences


in the Past Continuous:

• I was participating in the protest march yesterday at 3 o’clock.


• They weren’t shouting at the march, were they?
We use the Past Continuous:

• to describe an action that was happening at a specific time in the


past.

I was studying yesterday at 4:30 pm.


We use the Past Continuous:

• to describe two actions happening simultaneously in the past.

I was writing an email to the President while dad was making


dinner.
