Conflicts

There are conflicts that deserve special

attention, since they are still
active, indicating instability in international
security and
the possible systematic violation of human
rights between the parties involved.
Conflict in Syria
The conflict in Syria for 2019 is at a
standstill. Although there is still fighting
between forces loyal to the Bashar Al Asad
regime and insurgent
groups, the advantage lies with the
government, since thanks to the help of
Russia and Turkey they defeated the
Islamic State and retook control of most of
the country. However, it is estimated that
there are some 8 million displaced people
and 325,000 deaths.
War in Yemen
The war began with the seizure of the
capital of Yemen (Sana'a) by the
Houthis or Houthis, a Shiite rebel group
that managed to overthrow the
government led by President Mansour Hadi
Abdrabbuh. A coalition of Arab
countries was organized to attack Yemen
led by Saudi Arabia. Currently the conflict
continues in the modality of "guerrilla
warfare" claiming the lives of 60 thousand
people.
 Civil war in Sudan

In 2013, a failed coup against the South

Sudanese government sparked a wave
of violence that continues to this day.
There is talk of more than 5 million
displaced people and 400,000 deaths
until 2019.
War in Iraq and Afghanistan

Faced with the abandonment by the bulk of

the US army of these two countries,
radical groups have been retaking control,
creating an environment of instability and
insecurity in the region. It is estimated that
more than 40,000 people have died between
the two countries between 2018 and 2019.
Uncertainty continues.
China-US trade war
The United States and the People's
Republic of China clash
in a trade war that has repercussions around
the world. Both countries attack each other
by placing tariffs between their export and
import products. This has important
consequences for the economy since the
prices of different international resources
and products fluctuate for the final
consumer.
 Tensions in Ukraine

Tensions currently exist between the

Russian Federation and Ukraine over
ongoing skirmishes between pro-Russian
rebel groups and Ukrainian government
forces. In addition, there is nervousness
about a possible war between these two
countries for control of the Azov Sea.

International conflicts have important

consequences for the international
community since they interfere at a
global political, economic and social
level.

instability in international security, since
wars bring with them the spread of
insurgent groups that could become
terrorists and attack other countries. Also,
when there is a dispute between two
parties, there is a risk that third parties
may be involved, exacerbating the
conflict and increasing of the number of
victims.

The world economy is

During international conflicts, the

Organizations (NGOs), since these, having
no political affiliation, turn out to be
important mediators in the conflict.
