Socratic Seminar

• You will be divided into groups of three;


• You will be given 12 questions;
• Discuss the questions with your group members;
• Be polite and do not interrupt each other;
• Do not forget that it is not a debate, and have a discussion not a
monologue;
• You should answer and discuss at least 5 questions;
• If you don’t have anything to add, wait for others to finish the
discussion, so you can move on to a next question.

3. What has been your greatest success?
4. Have there been any failures that made your life better?  
5. What part does luck play in success?
6. Is success a journey or destination?
7. Does success make a person happy?
8. Do you believe that people must work hard to become successful? What kind of success
do you want in the future in your life?
9. What can you do now to be successful in the future?
10. Why is money the most common way of judging success?  
11. Is your idea of success same as your parents idea of success?  How much pressure do your
parents put on you to be successful? 
12. Is there a right time to give up and stop trying? Or should you never give up?
