Animal Sports Day

Today is Animal Sports Day. First, there is a jumping game. The frog, the turtle, and the duck play it.

The frog wins. “How did you jump so high?” asks the duck. “Because I’m lighter than both of you,”

the frog answers. Next, there is a tug-of-war between the skunks and the rhinoceroses. The

rhinoceroses laugh at the skunks. “We’re the largest animals here. You’re going to lose,” they say.

“We’ll see,” say the skunks. Then the game starts. “Oh, what’s that terrible smell?” shout the

rhinoceroses. Suddenly, they drop the rope and cover their noses.

Music and Shopping

Many people think music is just for entertainment. However, it’s also useful to stores and supermarkets.
Some elements of music can affect customers’ spending habits. What are they?
First, the tempo of the music can do this. When shoppers listen to slow music, they’re likely to walk slowly.
This makes them spend more time looking at products. Then, they tend to buy more things.
The volume of the music also affects shoppers. Loud music makes them shop for a shorter time. However,
that time feels longer to them. That’s why store managers prefer quiet music.
Last, customers’ and employees’ tastes in music are important. When customers like the music, they like
the store more. This makes them come again. Music is good for employees too. They work better when they
like the music. They make shoppers feel welcome and provide them with better service.
