Eminem
Marshall Bruce Mathers III, more known as
Eminem, is an american rapper. He is widely
recognised as one of the best rappers of all time,
and he is recognised by the influence that he left
on hip hop and on the music industry, changing
the rap genre.

Early life
Eminem's early life wasn't an easy one. When we had just been
born, his father left. Later, when he was a teenager, he wrote
letters to his missing father that we sent back to him by the mail.

At that time, he would be always moving with his mother. He


changed schools a couple of times because of problems with other
teenagers, and he had problems to make friends because of this.
Especially, in the area that he lived, where almost all the boys in
the school where afroamerican and he was one of the few white
boys.

He got close with the half-brother of his mother, who introduced
him to rap music. This is when Marshall started to have interest in
the genre, but suddenly his friend killed himself. This event left
him traumatized, and he couldn't even assist to the funeral. When
Marshall turned 17, he left the school.

Starts in music
Although he left school, he felt apassionate about the
english language and rap, so he started assisting to open
mic rap battles. He rapped under various names, like
"MC Double M"or "M&M", like the candy. Eventually,
the nickname "M&M" turned into "Eminem", name that
we all know today.

He also had to overcome adversities in the rap scene.


He went into the underground rap scene, and he had to
deal with the fact of being white.

Claim to fame & controversies
Eminem finally started being known by his music, with
the help of the iconic rapper Dr. Dre, who approved
Eminem's second album, "The Real Slim Shady
LP".Slim Shady was an alter ego that he created to be
able to express with controversial lyrics and an ironic
style.

. This had him into various legal problems, like the one
with his mom, where she demanded him a
compensation of 10 million dollars in 1999, because of
allegedly defamating her in his song "The Real Slim

In 2003, he released his own movie,"8 Mile", being a
semi-autobiographic movie. Eminem would later reveal
that during the filming of the movie, he couldn't sleep at
all due to the stress of filming, and he became adicted to
the pills that the medic prescribed him to sleep.

Eventually he had an overdose, and the medics told


him that it was the equivalent to 4 bags of heroin. He
revealed that he lost years of memory due to this. After
some years of dealing with depression, he found in
sport a way to reinvent, and Marshall's career continued
growing and his fame skyrocketed.

Nowadays At this point, Eminem turned into a star, making his
most popular songs like "Rap God", "Without Me" and
collaborating with artists like Rihanna, in their song
called "The Monster". His song "Lose Yourself",
released for the 8 Mile movie, is the only song in the
rap genre to have been awarded with an Oscar.

Eminem dropped his most famous songs in the 2010s,


and right now he is still realeasing music. In 2020, he
probably made one of his last albums, "Music to be
murdered by" with the likes of Don Toliver, and he even
made the soundtrack for the most recent Venom movie.
