What is a descriptive paragraph?

A descriptive paragraph is a paragraph that describes a

person, place or thing. Using this description allows the
reader to form a better mental image about
who/where/what is being described.

Good descriptive paragraphs take into account the five

senses: smell, taste, touch, sound and sight.

Ex: Her/His hair is soft as silk.

Her/His teeth are white like the snow.
My baby is the sunshine in my life.
The hot sand feels like a burning grill.

Eating is one of the things that I enjoy a lot. When I want to eat
something different, I go to Pizza Hut with my beautiful family on
Saturday nights. I don’t eat pizza very often because it is very
fattening but, my favorite one is with a lot of vegetables. I’m a
veggie lover! So, when the waiter comes to our table, I order an
extra large one, a half with ham and the other half with fresh
vegetables. I like my pizza very hot with a lot of cheese, many
mushrooms, some tomatoes and green pepper and a little onion. I
don’t like it with too much sauce. I love eating pizza!
