EXPIDE offers visibility over the complete process and its involved agents EXPIDE can map any logistic channel
General Information
Web-based application Multiple data entry forms
Six-sigma approach
Define (logistic channel definition) Measure (shipments are measured thru the application, and are
compared against parameters established)
Checkpoints
(individual items of the supply chain)
Checkpoint are individual items of the supply chain where the responsibility over the shipment changes from one agent to another.
Three security parameters included (determined by authority) The security of the logistic channel is derived from the security of its checkpoints.
Logistic channels
(solid lines in diagram)
Link of checkpoints: origin, borders, yards, warehouses, forwarding, destination. Modes of transport Performance measures: route, dead time Ability to enable multiple customized logistic channels
Product Details
Products qualified with six security parameters Shipments with dangerous products can be tracked closely
Organization information
User permissions
Four different type of users: Company employee Custom broker Carrier Government agency Users can perform specific actions only in the checkpoints allowed by the system administrator
Tracking screen
(available to all involved parties)
This icon shows the global status of the shipment (on time, in tolerance or late), performance based on times given in logistic channel parameters
This link opens the window that details the logistic channel of the shipment. This window shows the estimated and real times of arrival and departure of each checkpoint. The system calculates the Estimated Time of Arrival to the final destiny. This icon shows the status of the shipment according to the segments of the logistic channel.
This icon opens the window that displays the accumulated pictures and comments for this shipment.
Departure, current location and ETA are calcultaed using logistic channel data
This link opens the window that shows the content of the shipment and the detail of products.
This icon opens the menu where the information of the shipment can be updated. The available actions include: shipment expenses, content discrepancies, shipment transloading, documents upload.
Logistic channel
(data is updated following the parameter standards)
Arrival and departure checks are updated via web or using flat files from carrier systems
Photos and comments are uploaded in each checkpoint by assigned users This feature provides extra evidence on how shipment departed/arrived This feature has proven to be successful to determine container breaching along the process.
Documents
(dotted lines in the diagram)
The application keeps a record of the uploaded documents Dead times at borders/ports is minimized, responsible can be easily pinpointed
For example, the lack of B/L needed to make last portion of logistic channel
