ROMANIA
Some people look for beautiful places, others make
beautiful places.
ROMANIAN HISTORY
The Romanian people originated from the Roman's union with the
dacians. The Greeks referred to them as the Getae and the
Romans called them Daci.
Herodotus told us that the Getae were the most righteous and
brave of the Thracians.
The Roman Empire, ruled by emperors, had large territorial holdings
around the Mediterranean Sea in Europe, North Africa, and West
Asia. At the beginning of the first century, Dacia was seen by the
Romans as a threat, but also as a huge potential for enriching the
empire. Trajan decides to attack Dacia and conquer it.
After the conquest of Dacia, Roman Emperor Trajan began the
Romanization. In 106, after Decebal's death, any major
resistance of the Dacians ceased. The first governor was Iulius
Sabinus, who began organizing the province by the Roman model.
Under his descendant, Decimus Terentius Scaurianus, Roman
Sarmizegetusa is raised.
Trajan’s column is a Roman triumphal column in Rome, Italy,
that commemorates Roman emperor Trajan's victory in
the Dacian Wars, one from 101 to 102, and the other from 105
to 106.
Food words from Dacian language

The Dacians cultivated green peas and cabbage. We know this

because in Romanian language green peas means “mazare” and
cabbage means “varza”. These two words originate from the
Dacians language.
Food words from Latin

Some culinary words that come from latin are bubula, that
means beef, or cepe, that means onions. By that we can see that
the Dacians, that are a latin nation, ate food that we eat today.
More food words that come from latin are strawberries, milk,
fish, and beans.
