• What is HTML?
• HTML is a computer language used to design a
website and web application.

• These websites can then be viewed by anyone

else connected to the Internet.

• The full meaning of HTML is HyperText

Markup Language.

• HyperText is the method by which you move

around on the web.

• By clicking on special text called hyperlinks

which bring you to the next page.

• The fact that it is hyper means: you can go to

any place on the Internet whenever you want
by clicking on links.

 How HTML works

• HTML consists of a series of short codes typed

into a text-file by the Web Developer.

• The text is then saved as a html file, and viewed

through a browser, such as Google Chrome,
Internet Explorer or Firefox web-browser.
 How HTML works

• This web browser reads the file and translates

the text into a visible form, rendering the page
as the author(Web Developer) had intended.

• Writing your own HTML entails using tags

correctly to create your vision.

• You can use any text-editor to create HTML

pages.

software program that is used for storing,
organizing and manipulating data.

• Electronic spreadsheet programs were originally based
on paper spreadsheets used for accounting.

• The basic layout of computerized spreadsheets is the
same as the paper.

• Related data is stored in tables which are collections of
small rectangular boxes called cells organized into
rows and columns.

• Current versions of Excel and other spreadsheet

programs can store multiple spreadsheet pages
in a single computer file.

• The saved computer file is often referred to as a
workbook.

• And each page in the workbook is a separate

worksheet.
