DISCUSS HOW SHOPEE COULD IMPACT
TO THE SOCIAL CONTEXT
a) Planned Purchase

 Planned buying behavior is defined as a buying action that happens in response to a

problem thar has been identified earlier or whose purchase intention is formed well in

advance of getting into the store.

 While buying a product, many customers go through a decision-making process that

includes need recognition, information search, identifying alternatives, evaluating

alternatives, action (otherwise purchase), and post-purchase behaviour.

 Customers decide whether to buy or not, what to buy, and where to buy it by evaluating

the pros and cons of alternatives to maximize benefits.

 The influence of social factors such as family and reference group on consumers’

shopping behaviour has been recognized.

 The Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) is more accurate and effective in predicting

consumers’ behaviour intentions and actual behaviour.

b) Unplanned Purchase
 The term “impulse buying” is generally considered
to be synonymous with “unplanned purchase”
which mean any purchase that a consumer makes
but has not planned in advance.
 Impulse purchase behaviour happens when a
customer feels the urge to purchase something at
the very instant without any more evaluation.
 Impulse purchase behaviour is an action done
without any prior plan because of a stimulus.
