Introduction
• The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, is the
pioneer in rendering business education in Bangladesh.

• IBA was founded in 1966 in collaboration with Indiana University,


Bloomington, USA, under a Ford Foundation Financial Assistance Program

• The objective is to provide professional training to create future business


leaders. With its reputed programs coupled with a high-caliber faculty unit,
IBA is widely coveted for its excellent educational standards.

 Inadequate space in computer center
 Student-computer ratio is way less than other renowned business school.
 Poorly equipped computers. Not having necessary and updated software
access (such as SPSS, R-software, MATLAB, etc.) to do research. Multimedia
tools are almost unavailable.
 Slow Internet and Wi-Fi speed in CC.
 Unavailable Wi-Fi facility in Classrooms, Library and Bunker etc.
 Classroom computers are not even highly equipped with necessary
software and multimedia tools. Classroom IT facilities are not up to date.
 Very tiny and undertrained IT support and maintenance team.
 Regarding IBA website: no internal search engine, outdated architecture
etc. Obsolete to stand out in global business community.
 No academic student account installed.
HOW TO IMPROVE STUDENT EXPERIENCE WITH IT
RESOURCES
 Robust and secure wired and wireless network and internet access which
will be available everywhere in the IBA academic building with global
access.
 Increasethe number of technologically equipped computers in CC, library
with essential soft-wares, web-based conferencing, collaboration and
multimedia tools
 Modern lecture facilities, digital audio and video facilities in the classroom
 Available and well-trained IT Services team
 Student’s personal academic account system
 Easily access of payment status, course curriculum, result status, etc.
 Academic Portal, a secure network web gateway
Share ideas and access course materials in IBA community including:
 Online, class leading, learning management system
 A fully searchable School Directory of people
 Clubs, discussions and classified ads
 Electronic library databases and information services
 The School Events calendar
 A streaming media library

 “Professional Academic Website” with the help of IT expert team to stand


out in global business community

• For this, IBA will have to build expertise working with organizations within
Bangladesh, different sectors and company sizes alike, and be able to share
insights and solutions for efficient and successful hires
Conclusion

With respect to the MBA student survey results, recommendations were


provided as to how to improve IBA’s student satisfaction levels with respect to
the academia, management and job prospects, which include but are not
limited to the quality of teaching and the teachers, the academic resources at
the students’ disposal, the alumni association, career development and
recreational facilities.
