ABOUT
Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young
wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal,
overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic
THE AUTHOR
Joanne Rowling born 31 July 1965, also known by her pen name J. K. Rowling, is a
British author and philanthropist. She wrote Harry Potter, a seven-volume children's
fantasy series published from 1997 to 2007. The series has sold over 500 million copies,
been translated into at least 70 languages, and spawned a global media franchise
including films and video games
HOUSES
Houses at Hogwarts were both the living and learning communities for its students. Each year's group of students in the same House shared the same dormitory and many classes.
The houses competed throughout the school year, by earning and losing points for behavior.
GRYFFINDOR
Gryffindor valued bravery, daring, nerve, and chivalry. Its emblematic animal was the lion,
and its colors were scarlet and gold.

Hufflepuff valued hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play. Its emblematic
animal was the badger, and yellow and black were its colors.

Ravenclaw valued intelligence, knowledge, curiosity, creativity and wit. Its emblematic
animal was the eagle, and its colors were blue and bronze

Slytherin valued ambition, leadership, self-preservation, cunning and resourcefulness

Salazar Slytherin was regarded as one of the greatest wizards of the age and is the founder of
