CELLS AND TISSUES
CELL

* Cell is defined as the smallest basic unit of life.

* All living organisms are made up of cells.

* Cells arise from the division of pre-existing

cells.
*Cell division and
Specialization
Cell division
* Cell division is a process in which one cell
divide into two daughter cells.
* Plant and animal cells grow, their cells
increase in number by diving.
* Typical growing regions are ends of bones,
layers of cells in the skin, root tips and buds.
* Both daughter cells divide again, but usually
one cell becomes grows and changes in shape
and becomes adapted to perform specific
function, in other words in became Specialized
and it losses its ability to divide any more.
* The other cell divide and continue to growth of
the tissue.
*Cell division in
Animals
*Cell division in Plants
*The Nucleus divides first. A new cell wall
develops and separates the two cells.
*The cytoplasm add layers of cellulose on
each side of the new cell wall.
*Vacuoles form in the cytoplasm of one
cell.
*The vacuole join up to form one vacuole.
This takes in water and becomes larger
and makes the cell bigger. The other cell
divides again.
