AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The aim of this study is to optimize the removal of Eosin dye by synthesized Zeolite Y .

The objectives are to:

 Characterize Zeolite Y before and after adsorption;
 Study the parameter variables on the adsorption of the dye on prepared adsorbent (zeolite Y)
 Establish the best condition.

WORKDONE SO FAR

• Generated 32 runs using Design Expert by putting in 5 variables ( Time, Temperature,

pH, Adsorbate concentration, Adsorbent Dosage)
• Adsorption experiment was done

• The absorbance for each of the 32 runs was checked using UV Spectrophotometer

RESULTS OBTAINED SO FAR (contd.)

• Adeq Precision measures the signal to noise ratio. A ratio greater than 4 is
desirable. The ratio of 36.780 indicates an adequate signal.
• The Model F-value of 169.44 implies the model is significant.

• P-values less than 0.0500 indicated that the model terms are significant. In this
case B, D, AB, AD, AE, BC, BD, BE, CD, CE, DE, A², B², C², D², E², A²B, A²C,
A²D, A²E are significant model terms.
