Education and Training System

The PQF is a quality assured national system

for the development, recognition and award
of qualifications based on standards of
knowledge, skills and values acquired in
different ways and methods by learners and
workers educated/trained in the Philippines. It
describes the levels of
educational qualifications and sets the
standards for qualification outcomes.

As defined in RA 10968, qualification refers to a
formal certification that a person has
successfully achieved specific learning
outcomes relevant to the identified academic,
industry, or community requirements. A
qualification confers official recognition of
value in the world of education and
training, work, and job creation.

INTERNATIONALIZATION
IN EDUCATION
•Internationalization in
Education refers to the
deliberate integration of
international perspectives,
cross-cultural understanding,
and global engagement into
the educational experience.
It aims to prepare students
to become globally
competent individuals who
can navigate and contribute
effectively in an
interconnected and diverse
world.
Examples of internationalization in
education include: •Study Abroad
Programs
•Exchange Programs
•International Collaborative
Research
•Dual-Degree Programs
•Global Classroom Initiatives
•Internationalizing the Curriculum
•International Student Exchange
•Language Learning
•Intercultural Competency
Training
•Global Engagement Initiatives
WHY IS INTERNATIONALIZATION IMPORTANT
IN EDUCATION?
For higher education
institutions, their staff,
students and their
communities,
internationalization
brings life-changing
benefits as it connects
them with the global
environment.
IT BENEFITS INCLUDE
MOLDING STUDENTS WHO
ARE NOW MORE OPEN-
MINDED IN ACCESSING
KNOWLEDGE AND
DIFFERENT CULTURAL
LEARNING EXPERIEN
KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION,
ACQUISITION ALSO DEVELOPS
STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING
AND LOGICAL REASONING , TO
BE WELL-PREPARED AND WELL-
EQUIPPED TO ENGAGE WITH
OTHER PEOPLE AND BUSINESSES
FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.
WITH
INTERNATIONALIZATION,
HIGHER EDUCATION
INSTITUTIONS ARE
EXPOSED TO DIFFERENT
PRACTICES AND MAY ADAPT
A FEW PRACTICES WHICH
COULD HELP THEM
IMPROVE.
HIGHER EDUCATION
INSTITUTIONS CAN BETTER
EXPLORE THESE THROUGH
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS.
STUDENTS WHO ARE
EXPOSED TO GLOBALLY
COMPETITIVE EDUCATIONAL
TRAINING, THIS HELPS
TOWARD BUILDING A
STRONGER GLOBAL
COMMUNITY.
WHAT ARE THE
INTERNATIONALIZATION
OF LEARNING AND
TEACHING?
A LEARNER DISCOVERING
FOR THEMSELVES WHAT THE
MEANING OF A NEW WORD IS
BY USING CONTEXT WILL
INTERNALISE THIS
INFORMATION MORE DEEPLY
THAN A LEARNER BEING
TOLD WHAT THE MEANING IS.
THIS KIND OF PROCESSING IS
KEY TO TECHNIQUES SUCH
AS GUIDED DISCOVERY,
LEARNING STRATEGIES.
TEACHERS CAN ADOPT TO THESES
CHANGES BY INCORPORATING
INTERNATIONAL CONTENT INTO THEIR
TEACHING SUCH AS ABOUT GLOBAL
ISSUES, CULTURES, AND EVEN LANGUAGES
THEY CAN ALSO PARTICIPATE  IN
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
OPPORTUNITIES THAT FOCUSES ON
INTERNATIONALIZATION.
COMMUNITIES CAN SUPPORT
THESE CHARGES  BY
PROMOTING CULTURAL
EXCHANGE AND
INTERNATIONAL
OPPORTUNITIES FOR
STUDENTS SUCH AS
STUDYING ABROAD
PROGRAMS OR
INTERNATIONAL
PARTNERSHIP WITH
SCHOOLS IN OTHER
COUNTRIES.
GLOBALIZATION IN EDUCATION
The term globalization in
education refers to the
measures and changes
that educational
institutions will adopt to
take their products to the
global education market.
( McNamara, 2012)
ROLE OF
GLOBALIZATION
IN EDUCATION
Globalization enhances the student’s
ability to acquire and utilize
knowledge.
 Globalization
produces an increased
quantity of
scientifically and
technically trained
persons.
IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION
POSITIVE IMPACT
Globalization has
improved the quality of
education.
New methods of
learning such as e-
learning, blended
learning was quickly
adopted by many
countries due to
globalization.
Knowledge sharing
among the world
countries resulted
in teaching updated
technologies to
students across the
world.
Due to globalization, foreign
universities were established
in developing countries.
Now, more and more
students are studying in
colleges of other countries
through e-learning.
NEGATIVE IMPACT
English is
turning into the
main medium of
instruction in
many countries.
Not everyone has
access to quality
education.
Increasing the
technological gaps and
digital divides between
advanced countries
and less developed
countries;
