Philippine literature is literature
associated with the Philippines from
prehistory through colonial legacies and
to the present day.
DEFINITION OF LITERATURE

•Derived from Latin term litera which means letter.

•It has been defined differently by various writers. Some loosely
interpret literature as any printed matter written within a book, a
magazine or a pamphlet.
It also covers the genres and forms of Filipino
literature, its development, authors, heroes, and
campaign goals. The main themes of Philippine
literature focus on the pre-colonial cultural traditions
of the country and the socio-political history of its
colonial and contemporary traditions.
