CONCEPT OF EARLY MARRIAGE
 “Any marriage carried out below the age of 18 years,
before the girl is not physically and psychologically
ready to take the responsibilities of marriage and
childbearing" can be defined as Early marriage.
 Early Marriage is a form of violence against children as
it denies the right of children to health, nutrition,
education, freedom from violence, abuse and
exploitation.
EARLY MARRIAGE IN BANGLADESH
 Early marriage rate in Bangladesh is very high.
 It is Highest in South Asia (66%) rate of early marriage
and fourth in world.
 Occurs 80% in poor families and 53% in solvent
families.
 Early Marriage law of enforcement in Bangladesh is
very negligible.

WAYS TO PREVENT EARLY MARRIAGE
 Educate Girls
 Educate Parents

 Raise social awareness

 Support for young girls from being dropout

 Strength law against early Marriage

 Provide Relevant Economic Support if necessary
