• The present tense is the base form of the verb:
• Ex-I work in London.

• But the third person (she/he/it) adds an -s:


• Ex-She works in London

2-PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE.

• We use the present continuous tense to talk about:

1- Action in progress.
• Ex: I’m eating at the moment.
2- Actions around now.
• Ex : It is raining heavily these days.
3- Future plans.
• Ex : I’m travelling to US next month.

To be + subject + base + ing

Is She Talking?

- Yes, she is talking.


- No, she isn’t talking.

Negative form:

Subject +to be+ not +base +ing

She Is not (isn’t) talking


STATIVE VERBS
Be careful.
• Sometimes, Stative verbs can be also used with a 'dynamic' meaning.
• Ex: This cake tastes nice. (A state of the cake) taste → Stative verb
• Ex: I`m tasting the cake. (An action) taste → action verb
