renewable sources of energy.

Energy may be defined as the capacity
to do
work.
Energy is intimately related to power.
• Energy is the amount of force or
power when applied can move one
object from one position to another.
• Energy are broadly classifies into
two main groups-
1) Non renewable energy source
2) Renewable energy source
Non-renewable energy source

A non-renewable energy resources are the type of resources

which once depleted cannot be replenished in a short
duration.

- It cannot be used again and again. One day it will be

exhausted.

- Non-renewable sources are not environmental friendly and

have serious affect on our health.
● Non-renewable energy sources:

● - Coal

● Non-Renewable Energy

● - Natural gas

● Oil

● Ta

● Nuclear energy
Renewable energy:
Renewable energy is energy which is inexhaustible; generated from
natural sources such as sun, wind, rain, tides and can be replenished
again and again
even
after its usage and consumption.
!
Ti
This can be renewed over relatively short period of time.
The five major renewable energy
sources are-

1)Solar energy

)Wind energy

3)Hydropower energy

4)Biomass energy

5)Geothermal energy
Advantage:

Low pollution.
Free of cost.
Available in nature.
* A very large amount of energy could be generated in this way.
Disadvantage:
Usually produced in small quantities.
Often very difficult to store,
• High cost of harvesting energy.
Why to conserve?

We have limited fuels available on earth.

Our demand for energy is increasing day by day.

It is possible that someday , most of the fuels will be exhausted and we will have to
switch over to alternate energy.

Once it is used,it cannot be formed again. As

Petroleum once used cannot be renewed again.

India would reach target of 175 GW renewable
energy generation by 2022.
India to have 60% renewable energy by 2030,says
Power minister.
- India is set to achieve 450 GW of renewable energy
installed capacity by 2030,the Ministry of New and
Renewable Energy said on 12 October 2021.
