Types of Linear Actuators Explained

There are three main types of linear actuators: soft, rigid, and hybrid. Soft actuators are pressure-driven or mechanically driven and are intrinsically or extrinsically actuated. Rigid actuators have large strokes, are electrically or mechanically driven, and include direct roll-out and rotary spiral types. Hybrid actuators combine characteristics of soft and rigid actuators and can extend through unfolding, assembly, or use rotary or spiral motions.
