Introducing MaxTrax 7.0
MaxTrax™ 7.X is a Web/Browser Based software solution
for weld tracking and Quality Assurance/Quality Control in
the process and Power plant construction industry.
MaxTrax helps you enforce the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code B31.3 and other
codes or quality control standards.

MaxTrax Weld Tracking Software

MaxTrax is a powerful tool that helps you boost

efficiency,
reduce wasted resources,
increase reliability of estimated delivery dates,
and promote more effective management of
welders.
Most importantly, MaxTrax decreases rejection
rates,
makes scheduling easier,
and helps prevent problems—before they
occur. 4

Access and manage data from your desktop, laptop,
pad or smartphone.

 ISO drawing and weld data can be imported into
your database using the MaxTrax import feature
included with the install
 Import from spreadsheet with relevant data from
CAD or other media
 Migrate data from previous versions of MaxTrax
 Manually create a project if no import data is
available
BY.SHERRY.WASEF 7
MaxTrax performs the following
functions:
 Maintains a database of all work performed
 Tracks and enforces inspection percentages on
welds as specified
 Tracks welder history and rejection rates
 Provides a variety of reports for overall job
status

BY.SHERRY.WASEF 8
Weld Tracking and Inspection
Enforcement
 Tracks the history of a weld and
projects future work
 Enforces inspection order—
inspections cannot be performed out
of sequence
 Flags welds automatically for
inspection, based on your
percentage requirements
 Allows you to automate the most
complex requirements through
unlimited inspection classifications
 Tracks heat numbers of both welded
pieces and filler metal

BY.SHERRY.WASEF 9
Convenient Database
 Export reports to third-party tools, such as a
spreadsheet, to perform detailed analysis and
reporting
 Access and administer the database in a LAN
(Local Area Network) or WAN environment;
multiple users can access MaxTrax
simultaneously
 Supports multiple contractors for the same job
 Supports multiple projects in a single database
allowing rollup reporting

BY.SHERRY.WASEF 10
Welder History
 Gives multiple welders credit
for the same weld for full
welder accountability
 Maintains accept/reject
percentages for all welders,
contractors and projects
 Handles progressive
examination (automatically) of
a welder in case of rejects
 Notifies you of unqualified
welders

How does it
work?

Setting Up Data Dictionaries

When you setup the Data Dictionaries, you define the

following: Line Services, Insulation Types, Material
Codes, Filler Metals, and Welding Processes. The Data
Dictionaries make these items available as choices in
MaxTrax windows. These items also prevent
typographical mistakes from producing errors in the
program.

Welding Procedures
When you setup
Welding
Procedures, you
define the steps and
processes for a
specific type of
weld. Setting up
Welding Procedures
consists of two
parts: entering
procedure data and
defining related
welding processes.

BY.SHERRY.WASEF 15
Inspection Classes
An Inspection Class
is a particular group
of inspection
percentages
classified by weld
type. For process
piping, you typically
use the Line Class as
the class name, which
is displayed in the title
bar or the Inspection
Classes dialog box.

Welders
 Setting up welders is the last step in the initial setup of
MaxTrax. When you setup Welders, you define attributes
for each welder. Attributes include the welder’s name,
stencil, qualifications, and whether the welder is active
(on the job).
 You’ll use the Welders dialog box to create and define
Welders. There are two parts in setting up each welder.
First, you define basic attributes by entering the stencil,
name, and qualification data. Then, you define the
welding processes and procedures for which the welder
is qualified. The qualified procedures can include those
in Procedure Groups.

Reporting and Analysis
 Search, sort, and
execute reports using a
variety of criteria
 Follow every aspect of
the job through the
numerous status reports
including traceability,
repairs pending,
incomplete welds,
outstanding inspection
and more.
 Document progress,
history, and performance
of welders in the Welder
Reports section.
 Get an instant visual
representation of your
contractors and
completed welds.
