Contractions
What is a contraction?
A contraction is a word, made by
putting two words together.

When joining words together, an


apostrophe is added to show
where a letter(s) have been left
out.
Some contractions combine a
pronoun and a verb.
I + am = I’m
He + is = He’s
We + are = we’re
You + will = You’ll
They + are = They’re
