THE SHAWARMA
Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern
dish that originated in the Ottoman
Empire, consisting of meat cut into thin
slices, stacked in a cone-like shape, and
roasted on a slowly-turning vertical
rotisserie or spit. Traditionally made with
lamb or mutton, it may also be made with
chicken, turkey, beef, or veal.
HOW TO PREPARE A SHAWARMA?

INGREDIENTS

→ 1kilo of meat (preferably lamb or beef)

→ 1 large white onion1/2 cup finely chopped parsley

→ 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper1 pinch of ground

cloves1 teaspoon coriander

→ 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

→ 1/2 cup olive oil

→ Juice of 1 lemon

→ and salt to taste

PREPARATION
→ We'll start with the meat. With great care, we will remove all
the fat and make cuts into thin slices.

→ In a container, we are going to place the meat and all the

spices. We are going to take it to the refrigerator for about 12
hours so that it can be marinated very well so that the flavors
can be impregnated.

→ Now, let's help ourselves with a frying pan. We will put a little
oil, olive or vegetable. We place the marinated meat for about
5 minutes.

→ When the cooking is ready, we can assemble it.

→ We will grab a pita bread and form a bed of chopped lettuce,

tomato, onion rings and parsley. We add a good portion of
prepared meat and accommodate it with a little tahini sauce,
yogurt or mayonnaise of your choice.
