RUN-ON SENTENCES
What are run-on sentences?
Run-on sentences are sentences that are too long and contain more than one complete idea. These
sentences should often be two or more separate sentences separated by full stops.

Example: Jesse’s family lives on a farm and his mum looks after the house and his dad who works in
Washington and he has four sisters but he is in the middle of them and he has do a lot of chores to do
on the farm to help his mum.

colonial Australia and these gold rushes transformed Australia’s population and society
miners from all over the world left their homes and tried to strike it rich on the Australian

history.
