Her exceptional qualities as a leader have

strongest leaders in the world, and I would like to
highlight some of the key reasons why I believe
this to be the case.

• Rani Lakshmibai demonstrated incredible

courage and resilience.

overwhelming opposition make her an
inspiration for anyone facing difficult

people and worked tirelessly to improve their
lives. She was deeply committed to social 5
justice and equality, and fought against
discrimination and oppression.
BIOGRAPHY
Rani Lakshmibai was born in Varanasi in 1828 and was

trying to take over Jhansi. She led her troops into battle
against the British during the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and
gained a reputation as a skilled warrior and leader. Rani
Lakshmibai ultimately died in battle on June 18, 1858, at the

they were carrying her away, they were surrounded by
British soldiers who were intent on capturing her. Rani

and save themselves, but instead, she encouraged them to
continue fighting and to carry her to safety. She said, "I shall
not allow myself to be taken alive. I have come to fight, not
to surrender."
