DISCOURSE NETWORK ANALYSIS (DNA) SEBAGAI MIXED-METHODS

Discourse Network Analyzer (DNA) is a Java-based software for qualitative, category-based content analysis (QDA) with a special emphasis on

the extraction of network data. Its main purpose is the actor-based analysis of political discourses. Yet it may be used for other applications or

paradigms.

DNA involves two steps: coding statements of actors into categories, and converting these structured data into networks that are readable by

Ucinet, visone, NetMiner, Gephi and other network-analytic software packages. The software can extract either bipartite (affiliation) networks or co-

occurrence networks.
