SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS Aug 2021-July 2022


I. INTRODUCTION
Bislig City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Incorporated (BCCCIFI)
has continued to be part of the sector that is mostly represented into the Local
Government partnership in uplifting the business welfare and interest in Bislig City.
As Bislig City steps forward in its application for an Industrial Economic Zone is
southern Surigao del Sur, Bislig Chamber’s membership in the Technical Working
Group is to prepare the business sector community for the many changes in trade
and commerce in the next 5-10 years and onward.
The Local Government Unit of Bislig under Mayor Florencio Garay congratulated
Bislig Chamber in its recognition as the Most Outstanding Chamber in Mindanao and
in the Philippines in year 2021. This milestone of the organization resulted to the
more trust and confident partnership between LGU and the Chamber organization. In
fact, this allows the Bislig Chamber to spearhead the very first Tax Information,
Education and Campaign with the City Treasurer’s Office and the Licensing Office. It
begun on October of last year and is to be institutionalized as an annual tripartite
activity of these three offices in the coming years.
Last year, most of the seminars and trainings conducted are intermediate and
advance training like the Productivity Enhancement Program of the RTWPB-XIII
academic curriculum given to around 200 standing members of the organization.
1. Investment Promotion
Business Conferences are primary avenue that were established by the PCCCI for
Investment Promotion, aside from the fact that each Local Chamber are also
encourage to conduct other types of investment promotion in their locality.
2. Trade Promotion
This year was a remarkable moment because the Mangagoy Barangay Council has
been in progress of crafting the proposed ordinance establishing the Mangagoy
Night Market. This proposed ordinance stated a Tripartite Partnership between the
Mangagoy Barangay Council, Department of Trade and Industry and the Bislig
Chamber of Commerce.
3. Information, Education and Communication
This year information, Education and Campaign focuses on capacitating the
business tax payers with BIR regulations particularly in the preparation of Income
Tax Return and the filing deadline. This activity was a product of thorough discussion
between the BIR and Bislig Chamber when the organization assisted the two cases
of LA notices of 2 chamber members. Knowing that LA has become a rampant issue
among business owners in Bislig City, the BIR and Bislig Chamber come up with a
collaboration to conduct a Tax Forum and Guidelines in the preparation for the ITR
filing.
4. Corporate Social Responsibility
Bislig Chamber have been a Regular Member of the City Disaster Risk Reduction
Management Council. It Co-Chaired the Response Cluster under the Food and Non-
Food Items. Aside from participating in the Regular Programs of the CDRRMC,
Chamber also spearheads in the establishments Fund Raising for the provision of
the Food and Non-Food Items.
Awarding of the Php 1.0 million Kabuhayan Grant of BTRP TODA from DOLE
DILEEP Program given to LGU Bislig as its conduit partner. After around 10 mos.of
waiting the BTRP TODA has finally received their Kabuhayan Livelihood Assistance

and shall be procured under the LGU-Bids and Awards Committee.


This was awarded last June 1, 2022 at the City Mayor’s Office.
