Introduction

• An environmental audit is a systematic examination to assess a company’s


environmental responsibility.
• Areas examined are company environmental policies and procedures, energy use
practices, recycling, waste, conservation, and pollution.
• Then, the company can use the results to determine what changes need to be made for
compliance.
• Environmental Impact Assessment is a process of evaluating the likely environmental
impacts of a proposed project or development.
Objective
• Objective of conducting Environmental Audits by companies is for
assisting in providing protection against harm to the environment
along with reducing health risk factors for human.
• It aims to predict environmental impacts at an early stage in project
planning and design, find ways and means to reduce adverse impacts,
shape projects to suit the local environment and present the
predictions and options to decision-makers.
