PLE stands for Portuguese as a Second Language and refers to the

are words that have a common origin and usually share a similar form
and meaning in two or more languages. They can be a valuable resource

Definition of Cognates
Cognates can be classified into three types: true cognates, false cognates, and partial cognates. True cognates are words that are

sound similar in two or more languages but have different meanings. Partial cognates are words that have some similarity in
