Definition
As the name suggests, air freight logistics is the transfer
and shipment of goods via an air carrier, which may be
charter or commercial. This is a popular choice for many
in the business of logistics as shipments can be sent from
commercial and passenger aviation gateways to anywhere
that a plane can fly and land.
Advantages of air freight
• The fastest shipping method :
• When your goods need to be moved quickly ,air freight is the best
solution compared to sea freight or road transport ,no doubt about it
(after space travel ,that is)
• Highly reliable arrival and departure times :
• The arrival and departure times of flights are highly reliable , as
airlines tend to be very on top of their schedules .even missing a flight
would not cause much delay as there are usually flights departing
every hour
Disadvantages of air freight:
There are some disadvantages of transporting your goods by air, including:

 air transport can involve higher costs than other options, and is not
suitable for all goods
 flights are subject to delay or cancellation
 you will need to pay taxes at each airport you use
 fuel and currency surcharges will usually be added to freight costs
 further transportation may be needed from the destination airport to the
final destination
