Course Assessment Model
Are you ready to explore the fundamentals and elements of
design, as well as anthropometry and drafting?
Our Bachelor's in Architecture degree program offers a first-
semester course that culminates in the design of a student plaza.
From 2D and 3D composition to model making, we'll provide you
with the tools and resources you need to succeed in your
architectural career.
The Course Contents
Design Fundamentals and Elements
Form and Function
Explore the relationship between form and function, including the study of structural
systems, building materials, and construction techniques.
The Course Contents
Design Fundamentals and Elements
Color Theory Master the principles of color theory and learn how to apply color to
transform spaces and evoke emotions.

Anthropometry in Design
"Design for people, not for
space." - Bill Moggridge

Understand the importance

of designing with human
proportions and movements
in mind. Learn how
anthropometry can maximize
functionality and comfort,
while enabling occupants to
enjoy their surroundings. By
the end of this section, you'll
be able to create designs that
are both beautiful and highly
functional.

Course Outcomes:
Course Outcomes:

CO1 :: outline select, and assemble simple spatial 2D and 3D elements to create coherent
architectural constructs.

CO2 :: determine fundamental architectural concepts of space, form, and enclosure, and
apply design principles to enhance architectural quality

CO3 :: apply anthropometrics in the design of simple architectural forms, considering

human activity and space utilization.

CO4 :: combine and assemble spatial elements into articulated architectural constructs,
and effectively represent them through hand-made 2D drawings and models.
Task for the day
Title: Exploring Identity and Passions - A Creative
Introductory Sheet

Objective: The objective of this task is to help first-year Architecture students introduce
themselves, express their personality, and showcase their best interests through a
creative and visually appealing A3-sized sheet. This activity encourages self-expression,
creativity, and interaction among the students, setting a positive tone for the start of
their college journey.
Task for the day
Title: Exploring Identity and Passions - A Creative Introductory Sheet
Instructions:
Sheet Size and Layout:
Use an A3-sized sheet (29.7 cm x 42.0 cm) as the canvas for your introductory sheet.
Place an A5-sized (14.8 cm x 21.0 cm) photograph of yourself on the top right corner of the sheet.
Content:
Choose a title that represents your personality, interests, or a unique aspect of yourself. This could be something
like "Unveiling my Architectural Odyssey" or "Passions in Patterns."
Introduce yourself briefly in a few sentences. State your name, where you're from, and why you've chosen
architecture as your field of study.
Visual Elements:
Incorporate visuals that represent your personality and interests. You can use drawings, sketches, images, or
collages.
Design elements that reflect architectural concepts, like lines, shapes, and patterns, can be creatively integrated.
Use colors that resonate with your identity and evoke a sense of enthusiasm.
Interests and Passions:
Choose 2-3 of your interests or passions that define you outside of your studies. These could be hobbies, sports,
music, travel, etc.
Write a brief paragraph for each interest, explaining why it fascinates you and how it contributes to your
personality.
Typography and Writing Style:
Experiment with different fonts and sizes to add visual interest to your sheet.
Write your content in a way that reflects your personality, whether it's casual, poetic, or descriptive.
Photo Placement:
Place your photograph on the top right corner of the sheet. Ensure it's well-centered and appropriately positioned.
CO1: outline select, and assemble simple spatial 2D and 3D elements to create
coherent architectural constructs.
1. Geometric Collage (2D):
● Start with a blank canvas or sheet of paper.
● Cut out different 2D shapes (circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, etc.) from colored
paper or magazines.
● Use the cut-out shapes to create a collage on the canvas, arranging them in a way
that forms a coherent design. You can overlap, rotate, or resize the shapes as needed.
● Once satisfied with the arrangement, glue the shapes onto the canvas to create a final
composition.
Introduction to elements and principles of design and
applying them in 2d and 3d composition with
exploration of materials.
