BANQUET AND CATERING SERVICES ARE AMONG THE
MOST LUCRATIVE BUSINESS IN THE HOSPITALITY
INDUSTRY.
“Banquet” refers to a party or any
event that takes place in a function
area of a food establishment.
Catering pertains to services in a venue
chosen by client which could be his
own house or office or elsewhere.
Banquet service caters to various types
of functions such as:
Wedding
Social events like parties, debut, anniversaries etc.
Conventions, conferences, meetings
Seminars
Trade exhibit
Other events
Banquet menus may take the form of:
Sit down menus – where food is served to guests in their
respective tables using American or Russian service or
both.
Buffet – wherein foods are arranged in appropriate
sequence in a buffet table and guests have to get food for
themselves;
Cocktails – where hot and cold appetizers, finger foods like
canapés and hor d’ oeuvres are served buffet style. Tables
for guests are not set up since cocktail parties are supposed
to be a standing affair.
