WHAT HAPPENS TO

TALENT THAT GOES

UNRECOGNISED ?
By : Afnan Tahir
PERCEPTION|INTRODUCTION
 Art that goes unrecognized
 Franz Kafka
 Acceptance of talent in society
 Our sense of superiority
WHY DO WE
KNOW THE
NAMES OF
THESE
PAINTINGS?

WHATS SO
SPECIAL
ABOUT
THEM?
FRANZ KAFKA
 A german speaking bohemian novelist
 Father was a businessman
 Introverted
 not the perfect-manly and physically strong his father wanted
 tried fitting in and got a desk job, 9 to 5
 Started writing, published his book mediation, did not get
recognition, told by others to quit.
 Kept writing but didn’t get anything published.
 He died leaving instructions for his literary work to be burned
however Max Brod, his bestfriend got them published and now
we have literary masterpieces like
 Metamorphosis
 The trial
 Letters of Milena
WHAT IS KAFKA NEVER GOT
THE RECOGNITION?
 What if Max Brod never got kafkas work published? We would’ve never known of him. This
might sound trivial but do consider his efforts and whether it would’ve been fair if he died as
society called him, a loser.
WHY?
 Different people have different persepectives so the next time you see someone showing you
any art piece, poem, essay or painting or even another ideology listen to them before. Theres a
reason why theyre saying it,they have a brain too and your not the only one with it.
 We need to end this narcissistic, I-am-superior mentality. Sure, it might help with your self
confidence and self esteem but keep in mind the effect it has on other people, this sense of
superiority destroys talents around the world, crushes their wings before they learn to fly.
